1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Readune iOS app and the Readune website at readune.thinksview.com. Readune is published by ThinksView. “Readune,” “we,” and “us” refer to the app, website, and publisher together.
2. What we do not collect
Readune does not require a Readune account. We do not run a book catalogue, advertising network, behavioural analytics system, or developer-operated server for your books, extracted text, search queries, bookmarks, or reading history.
- Your books are not uploaded to a Readune server for parsing or search.
- Your full-text search index is not sent to us.
- We do not sell personal information or use reading activity for advertising.
3. What stays on your device
To provide the core reader, Readune processes information locally on your iPhone or iPad. This can include the files you import, book titles and metadata, extracted text, the local search index, reading positions, bookmarks, per-book preferences, and settings such as theme and text size.
Read Aloud uses the system speech services available on your device. Playback controls, sentence highlighting, speed, and sleep-timer state are used to provide the feature. Comics and image-only books may not have searchable text; Readune does not include OCR for scanned pages.
4. iCloud and Readune Plus
iCloud features are optional and are controlled by your Apple account and device settings. When enabled, Apple’s iCloud services can sync reading positions, bookmarks, and per-book preferences. Readune Plus can also optionally sync original book files through your personal iCloud Drive. Those files are handled by Apple’s services under your Apple account; ThinksView does not operate the storage.
If you turn off a sync feature, Readune stops new sync activity for that feature. Deleting a synced book while library sync is enabled can remove its cloud copy and propagate that deletion to your other devices, according to the feature’s controls.
5. This website
This website is a static information site. Our hosting provider may process limited technical request information, such as an IP address, browser details, and request time, as needed to deliver, secure, and maintain the site. We do not use this website to collect book files, search queries, or reading data, and we do not place advertising or behavioural tracking scripts on it.
The site may link to Apple or GitHub. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and their handling of information is outside this policy.
6. Your choices
You choose which files to import, whether to enable iCloud features, whether to use Read Aloud, and whether to delete books. Deleting a book from Readune removes its local book data and local search index. You can also manage iCloud access in your Apple device settings.
7. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when Readune changes or when the law requires it. The “Last updated” date above shows the latest version. If you have a privacy question or need support, please use the Readune support issue tracker.
