Does Readune work offline?
Yes. Importing, format conversion, the full-text search index, reading themes and Read Aloud all run on your iPhone or iPad. There is no Readune account, no book catalog and no server for your books — airplane mode is a perfectly good reading mode.
Which ebook formats does Readune support?
Readune opens the formats real private libraries are made of: EPUB, PDF, CBZ, CBR, TXT, HTML, Markdown, FB2, MOBI and AZW3 — as long as the files are DRM-free. Conversions happen on your device, never on a server.
Can I search the text inside all my books at once?
Yes. Readune builds a private, on-device search index across your whole library, so you can type half-remembered words and jump straight to the exact page in the exact book.
Can Readune read my ebooks aloud?
Yes. Read Aloud reads with system voices, highlights each sentence as it speaks, keeps playing in the background and stops on a sleep timer. Just press play and give your eyes a rest.
Do I need an account, and what happens to my data?
No account, no ads and no behavioral tracking. Your books, extracted text and search index stay on your device. iCloud sync is optional and controlled entirely by your Apple settings.
